The house is dedicated to the Litinus Family, an aristocratic and prestigious family of Crete. Being ancestors of Alexius the First, a Byzantine Emperor, they were placed in Crete in the 11 th Century aiming to revive and develop the Cretan culture.

History
THE CONCEPT
The Litinus name originates from the word «Λίθος», which in the Greek language means “Stone” – the main element of the Litinus Regia.
The family has royal origins from ancient Rome and more specifically King Latinos in Lazio, Italy. When Constantine the great moved his empire from Rome to Constantinople, the Litinus family moved with him.
Three family crests represent the family name. The crests were found in the Padova University in Italy and seem to be from the 14 th century.
The most important symbol being the one inspired by the ancient roman symbol Fasces and includes a bundle of rods that are connected with one another by red strings. The rods symbolize the power of people when united with one another.

LITINUS REGIA
Constructed using stone from the island’s Psiloritis Mountain, this magnificent five storey villa perfectly combines tradition with modernity to honour the family’s historical name and origins.
The exterior is truly remarkable, offering impressive block-style architecture and boasting breathtaking views over the landscape and out to the Mediterranean Sea. Surrounded by a rose garden and perennial olive trees, you can enjoy the Cretan warmth in complete privacy and tranquility.
Spend quiet days playing games on the lawn, cooling off in the pool, soaking in the sun on the poolside deck, or evening visiting the estate’s private church. Ideal for entertaining both friends and family, there is also an outdoor kitchen complete with a BBQ, as well as two huge tables to choose from for a spot of al fresco dining.
Stepping inside, the home has been expertly designed with modern features and local natural wood throughout, allowing you to relax in style. Two lounges feature lavish seating, the fully-equipped kitchen is complete with state-of-the-art appliances, and there are further indoor dining areas should you need.
For an additional taste of luxury, be sure to unwind in the home’s sauna and make use of the private bar. Six superb bedrooms are found in this villa, with the master suite boasting a walk-in closet, fireplace, and panoramic views from the veranda.

The basement consists of a service bedroom, which could accommodate two people.
It would also be appropriate to use this room as a children’s bedroom and a laundry room which includes a washing machine, a drying machine and an ironing board.

The ground floor, is made up of a fully professional equipped kitchen and a conveniently placed dining area which could serve 10 people.
For the brilliant sunny days another dinning table is conveniently placed on the kitchens veranda which could serve 12 people.
Moreover, it features a bright and sophisticated living room with a large fireplace that opens onto spacious outdoor lounging, pool, Jacuzzi and garden areas. Further, a corridor will lead you to an en-suite double bedroom which is provided with direct access to the gardens and pool.
Finally, a fully equipped and modern sauna is placed on the ground floor made with the finest wood to provide you with the ultimate relaxation.

THE FIRST FLOOR
This level welcomes you with a large living room. Its luxurious leather sofas, are perfect to linger over panoramic vistas and breathtaking sunset.
Right next to the living room a large dining hall complemented by a large fireplace and its library could serve more than 20 people.
On the same level, yet still kept private you could use the convenient office and its library.
Finally, an en-suite double bedroom looking towards the gardens and pool could provide you with the rest that would be needed after a full of impressions day.

This level consists of a deluxe master walk-in closet bedroom including its own fireplace and bathroom with both a bath and a shower.
Moreover a second en-suite double bedroom is placed on that floor. Both luxurious rooms contain two large verandas and a panoramic view.

The top floor contains a fully private en-suite double bedroom with stunning views as it has access to a terrace that provides you with a 360 o panoramic view of the striking surroundings and natural environment.

This uniquely designed cellar will provide you with an exclusive experience by giving you the chance to explore a chic palette of vintage cognacs and fine wines which could be served through our 16 wooden barrels or the selective bottles, while comfortably resting on its dining table which serves 12 people.
The room is carefully preserved with appropriate temperatures for the maintenance of the exclusive wines, including a low temperature cupboard for the preservation of the exclusive white and rose wines. Moreover, the room is built in such way in order to maintain a perfect environment that preserves sound isolation.

The fully equipped BBQ consists of a large traditional oven, a large dining table that can accommodate more than 20 people and a bar with two mini fridges.
The BBQ is uniquely positioned in a way that overlooks the beautiful garden and pool.
The BBQ consists of sliding shades that can be brought down in case of rain or heavy wind.

THE CHURCH
Our private church is dedicated to St.John of Russia. Here, you could gain spiritual relaxation and even organize weddings, baptizing and other ceremonies.
The belfry of the church has been constructed in the Nikolaev Shipyard. An exterior stone bed has been designed beneath an oak tree that will allow you to fully enjoy all the spirituality and natural surroundings.

In our beautiful gardens the blooming roses, olive trees, pomegranate trees will escort you to the stunning infinity pool and a heated Jacuzzi built for 4 people, located on the highest point of the garden offering a magnificent view.
Furthermore, an outside living area placed on a unique spot in the garden and complemented by a waterfall and a lemon garden will allow you to enjoy the evening sunsets filled with a palette of orange shades.
For unforgettable traditional Cretan evenings a fully equipped BBQ will offer you to the opportunity to dine with your loved ones on the large table provided that could serve more than 30 people and taste the unique Mediterranean cuisine.
All the products that you will find in this luxurious estate are organic, including our extra-virgin olive oil “Creta D’oro”, our fine wine and our homemade cheese.

LIGNUM
The Ground Floor bedroom has 27sq.m. living space with a spacious en-suite Amadeus marble bathroom. It consists of a natural oak king size bed, which sleeps 2.
The interior design of the room is based on wood, “lignum” in Latin, specifically a natural iroko double wardrobe and bespoke furniture. The sliding doors open to a large veranda leading to the pool.

SAXUM
The First Floor bedroom has 26 sq.m. living space with a spacious Turkish marble, “saxum” in Latin, combined with an en-suite concrete tile bathroom and silver curtains.
It consists of a leather king size bed, which sleeps 2, as well as a natural iroko double wardrobe, handmade furniture and a large veranda with panoramic view.

DOMINUS
The Master, “dominus” in Latin, is the largest bedroom with a 45 sq.m. living space, a natural iroko walk – in closet, a deluxe fireplace and a suede king size bed sleeping 2.
The bathroom is made of polished black granite and features afreestanding bathtub, separate shower and unique bespoke joinery.

VINEA
On the same floor as the Master bedroom, is the Vinea bedroom, associated with the mauve colours of the curtains and cocoon king size bed.
The living space is 31 sq.m. and features a natural iroko double wardrobe, bespoke furniture as well as two large verandas with panoramic view.

OLEA
The bedroom on the 3 rd floor has 20 sq.m. living space with a king size bed, spacious pearl mosaic bathroom and olive-green curtains.
The name of the room, which means olive tree, originates from the combination of the element of wood with the olive-green hues.
This bedroom has the largest veranda in the house, with amazing views of the sea and the city centre.

SERVICE BEDROOM
The service bedroom is located in the basement of the house next to the laundry room.
It has private access through the second entrance of the house, next to the wine cellar.
Equipped with a two-story bunk bed, large wardrobe and private bathroom with shower.

The house is located just 500 metres from the Amnatos Village which was one of the those owned by the historical Minoan Civilisation and 15km from the City of Rethymno, on the north side of the island.
